Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Energy Bites

Yield: About 40 Energy Balls
Serving Size: 1 Energy Ball (16g)

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups Medjool dates pitted (about 15 each, 9 oz)
  • 3 tablespoons cacao powder
  • 1 tablespoon almond butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 cups Organic Hemp Hearts – Manitoba Harvest
  • Water as needed for binding
  • 4 oz dark chocolate
  • Flaked sea salt to garnish

Instructions:

  • Process dates in the food processor until broken apart and sticky, about 30 seconds.
  • Add remaining ingredients (minus hemp hearts and chocolate) and process until dough forms.
  • Pulse in hemp hearts. Add water teaspoons if needed.
  • Form into one-inch balls (about 40); place on a parchment lined sheet.
  • Melt chocolate; dip top of each ball and return to sheet. Sprinkle it with sea salt flakes. 
  • Chill 30 minutes until chocolate has set.
