 Nora's Story

As a college student, I am surrounded by terrible eating habits. As a competitive snowboarder, I want to be able to live a healthy lifestyle, both in athletics and in nutrition. When I entered my freshman year at the University of New England, I was interested in changing my diet to something that would not only keep me healthy, but would also supply enough energy for my active lifestyle. One of my friends suggested a hemp food product by Manitoba Harvest that she had been using for quite some time. At first I was a little hesitant at the suggestion, but I was soon to change my whole outlook on healthy hemp foods. All the other "health" foods that I had tried did not supply me with as much energy OR flavor that I was after. Once I tried the Manitoba Harvest Hemp Seed Nut Butter, I knew that I had found something worth holding onto.

Before a snowboarding session, I start off with a bagel topped with Hemp Seed Nut Butter. The Hemp Seed Nut Butter supplies me with the protein and energy I need to fuel my 8 hour riding session. When I need a snack when I'm riding, I grab some Hemp Seed Nut(shelled hemp seed). They taste better than soy nuts, and they're a healthy alternative to other snacks.

After just a few days of keeping a healthy diet consisting of hemp foods, I could already notice a difference. I had more energy for snowboarding as well as my classes. Not only did my energy level go up, but so did my overall confidence. I was eating healthy, feeling better about myself, and able to ride for 8 hours with ease. All in all, I was a much happier person.

Summer snowboard training consists of spending hours in a hot gym, perfecting jumps on a trampoline. The workouts in the hot summer months are a sure test of how well one can endure physical strain. I always need to make sure I eat foods that will supply me with the large amount of energy that I need in order to make it through the day. My typical meal before a training session consists of a salad complimented with a Hemp Seed Oil dressing and my favorite topping, Hemp Seed Nut. With any sport comes injury. Freestyle snowboarding is not easy on the body. This past year, I was diagnosed with burcitis in my knee after dislocating it on a rail. My doctor told me that by maintaining a healthy diet and icing, I will be back at 100% by the time next season rolls around. My current diet fueled by healthy Hemp Foods & Oils is putting me back on track and I'm feeling great.
