My dog Hopkins was diagnosed with the Mange this summer. Seems his curiousity with eating fox poop on the trails behind our house finally caught up with him. He had blotches of severe skin irritation and peeling on his belly. He was prescribed an antibacterial medication for the infection and the vet suggested that we give him EFAs to help his skin heal. My husband and I are avid Manitoba Harvest hemp food users and know it is great for human health, so we figured if it works for us it would be good for our poop eating labrador retriever. We would add one or 2 teaspoons of hemp seed oil or an ounce of shelled hemp seed to his food each night. His skin condition cleared up in a week or so. What amazed us though, was the soft, silky coat that replaced his previous coarse-feeling fur. Now, we add hemp to his food once or twice a week and that maintains his beautiful and healthy coat - and he no longer has dry dandruffy skin. Hopkins sends a Woof to the Manitoba Harvest folks up there in Winnipeg!
